Miley Cyrus and Mike WiLL Made-It are partners in music-making—and that 's it!
A rep for Mike tells E! News that the artists struck up a friendship over the course of their collaboration on Miley's upcoming album, Bangerz, and his new single, "23," and reports that there's something romantic going on between them are not true.
"They have been spending a lot of time together because they are working so closely together on [Miley's] album," the rep said. They work "closely professionally and it is all about the music."
Mike (born Michael Len Williams II) wrote Miley's smash-hit single "We Can't Stop" and that led to the 24-year-old hip-hop artist and producer ultimately being the executive producer of her fourth studio album, Bangerz, due out Oct. 8.
Miley returned the favor, lending her voice to "23," the lead single off of Mike's debut album of the same name and appearing in the sexy video—the one featuring Miley in a Bulls jersey (Michael Jordan wore 23) and the barely there top-and-bottoms.
Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J and the now ubiquitous foam finger are also featured prominently in the video and Miley's been tweetin' away to her fans on behalf of her pal in an effort to push "23" into the top 10 on iTunes.
Meanwhile, the latest Miley bombshell to fall from the pages of a magazine this week came from her recent interview with Fashion magazine, during which she revealed that another one of her upcoming new tunes, "Drive," was written around Valentine's Day when she was going through an emotionally hard time.
"It is about needing to leave someone but not really wanting to completely cut yourself off from the relationship," she said. "It's a time when you want to leave but you can't. It's also about moving on."
The 20-year-old's rep confirmed on Sept. 16 that Miley had ended her engagement to longtime love Liam Hemsworth, who popped the question in May 2012.
