Miley Cyrus' performance with Robin Thicke at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards stirred up quite a bit of controversy, but guess what? It was supposedly even naughtier than we thought!

According to the singer, the racy duet was originally turned up a notch, until the network stepped in and simmered it down (well, as much as possible).

"I was trying to slap Robin's ass but no one saw it! Believe me! MTV edited so much," Cyrus told Fashion magazine in their November issue. "They cut almost everything I did."

Regardless (both of the editing and the commotion caused after her performance was aired), Miley says she is "proud" of the show they put on for the audience.

"I feel like music is really stale right now. I could have guessed what a lot of artists would have done that night. The reaction to what I did has been insane. I think it was a breath of fresh air! For the people that don't get it, you weren't meant to."

Meanwhile, celebs continue to critique the act, the latest being Lance Bass, who said, "It didn't do anything for me," but also added, "Everyone's still talking about it, she has the No. 1 album right now and that's what you get at the VMAs. So, I mean, kudos to her for figuring it out!"

Yes, kudos, Miley!
