BRAND NEW ON E!
Scottie Pippen has gotten himself in the middle of foul play.
Lost Hills Sheriff's Department confirms to E! News that the retired NBA star has turned himself in for questioning about an assault that occurred in Malibu last night.
But contrary to other reports, the former Chicago Bulls player was not booked or arrested.
"Our detectives are not going to book and arrest Mr. Pippen," said L.A. County Sheriff's Department Capt. Pat Davoren told USA Today. "He came in and was very cooperative and answered a lot of questions. Our detectives have to do further investigating, mainly talking to other witnesses."
The Sheriff's Department tells E! News that at approximately 6:30 p.m. last night, deputies responded to a call regarding an altercation at Nobu restaurant in Malibu. Deputies contacted an injured male adult, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.
According to reports, Pippen was dining at the sushi restaurant with his family when a man approached him for an autograph and allegedly began taking pictures. Once the ball player and his brood were leaving the restaurant, the man approached him once again asking for an autograph and an altercation ensued.
The investigation is ongoing at this time and detectives are attempting to obtain additional information regarding the incident.
