Demi Lovato Talks "Emotional Songs" on New Album, Importance of Anti-Bullying Movement—Watch Now!

Nothing is off limits on Demi Lovato's new album.

On Thursday's Live With Kelly and Michael, the X Factor judge explained how some of her personal ups and downs have been incorporated into the songs on Demi, which hits stores May 14.

"With the album I have a ton of upbeat songs, that are just like 'Heart Attack,'" she said. "Super catchy, they get stuck in your head, which is always a good thing. But I also have some pretty emotional songs opening up about things that I haven't really ever talked about. It's a big deal for me."

The 20-year-old pop star also explained why she's so passionate about the anti-bullying movement. "I take it very seriously," she said, noting that she has a song about bullying she hopes to release later.

"That's something I feel like my powers—" she started, putting "powers" in air quotes as she modestly referred to her level of celebrity. "With that, I feel like if you're not using it for good, then you're wasting everyone's time."

Clearly, we're all lucky Demi's using her powers to spread an empowering, upbeat message!
