The 45-year-old star is stepping into Grace Kelly's legendary shoes for her role in the upcoming film, Grace of Monaco, and new pics of the actress on set have been released where Kidman bears a striking resemblance to the late Hollywood icon-turned-princess.
In the first pic, Kidman is sporting Kelly's signature '60s fashion, rocking a polka dot head scarf, pearls, a yellow trench and cat-eye shades. She gazes off in the distance in the pensive pic with a throng of people and the cool blue ocean blurred in the background.
In another shot, the actress is dripping in diamonds and regal duds, as she channels the life of the late princess. Her hair is swept up into an elegant bun and adorned with a gem-encrusted headband.
The Olivier Dahan-directed flick only recounts a short period in Kelly's life, focusing on her involvement in the tax law dispute between Monaco's Prince Rainier III and France's Charles De Gaulle in the early 1960s.
Although Kidman certainly looks the part, her role has already sparked controversy. The late legend's son and Monaco's royal family have both criticized the Weinstein Company production, claiming there are "major historical untruths and a series of purely fictional scenes" in the film.
Grace of Monaco hits theaters in 2014.
