Donald Trump is apparently willing to put more money where his mouth is.

During an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, the topic came up, of course, of the Celebrity Apprentice star's announcement that he would give $5 million to President Barack Obama's charity of choice if the commander in chief released his college and passport records.

"What did I miss in this? Why do we want to see President Obama's college records?" asked Letterman.

"Transparency. Does that make sense to anybody? Seriously, transparency," Trump replied, before noting that he would actually be willing to increase the offer.

"I assume and I hope that his records are perfect," noted Trump. "He picks up $5 million for charity. Five million. From me. Immediate. Check written. I'd even go more to be honest; there, you have a scoop."

On Wednesday, Obama himself was asked about the offer by Jay Leno while on The Tonight Show.

"This all dates back to when we were growing up together in Kenya," Obama joked. We had constant run-ins on the soccer field. He wasn't very good and resented it...When we finally moved to America, I thought it would be over."
