Way before Prometheus hit theaters last June, anticipation was pretty high for the Ridley Scott-directed sci-fi flick.

After all, it was being touted as a kinda, sorta prequel to Alien. What's more, it also had a killer cast that included Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace and Oscar winner Charlize Theron, who, in this exclusive first look at a behind-the-scenes clip from the movie's release tomorrow on Blu-ray, reveals how she wound up playing mission director Meredith Vickers.

"I had heard about this film and actually talked to Ridley about it, just kind of knowing that I wasn't available to do it, but I was just really interested to hear what he was going to do," recalls Theron. "And I remember at dinner, he pitched the story, and I was really so impressed by it."

Fortunately for the film, and audiences, Theron's schedule opened up after another movie she was slated to do got pushed back.

"Ridley found out about it and he sent me the script," the actress says. "I read it and I came back to L.A., and we got on the phone and had a really good discussion about it."

And the rest, as they say, is history.
