Although Kelsey Grammer has admitted in the past to a personal desire to run for president, his latest statements on the matter indicate otherwise. “I have [thought about running for office] but my devotion to my family, my wife and to their privacy has overruled that desire,” said Grammer.

Soup Blog insiders claim, however, that there are other reasons behind the popular star’s decision. “Kelsey’s advisors realize you don't get to the Oval Office without some kind of major medical issue,” revealed a source. “With only a mild heart attack to his credit, well, he’s just not presidential material.” Indeed, many commanders in chief have suffered various afflictions. “Look at FDR. Full-on polio,” the source continued. “Eisenhower? A heart attack and a stroke, both in office. Kennedy? Addison’s disease, very sexy. George Bush had atrial fibrillation and a thyroid problem. Grammer should learn from our best candidate, John McCain. Fifteen years of skin cancers, polyps in his colon, cysts in his kidney and stones in his bladder. Now that’s a president.”
