The comedian sat down with director turned host Kevin Smith for what was supposed to have been a comedy-themed podcast, but it instead devolved into a nasty rant that saw Lovitz rip the president to pieces amid a barrage of profanity-filled barbs.
Yowza. And you thought President Obama had enough on his hands duking it out with Republicans during an election year…
"This whole thing with Obama saying the rich don't pay their taxes is f--king bulls--t," Lovitz rails on the podcast series The ABC's of SNL, which was reportedly recorded earlier this year but only surfaced online this past weekend. (Listen to the podcast below, although be forewarned: loads of sharp language in there.)
The series was supposed to be a fond look back at Lovitz's time as a player on Saturday Night Live, but the disgruntled comedian—who described himself as a Democrat—used it as a podium to settle an apparently bitter score with the president over his tax policy.
"And I voted for the guy, and I'm a Democrat," he continues. "What a f--king a--hole. The rich don't pay their taxes? Let me tell you something, right. First they say to you, you're dead broke—'The United States of America, you can do anything you want, go for it.' So then you go for it, and then you make it, and everyone's like, 'F--k you."
Lovitz doesn't stop there. He then goes on to cite Obama's own challenging upbringing and castigates the president for turning against the 99 percent.
"He himself is the perfect example," Lovitz says. "He's amazing. He had nothing…he had no father, he was [of] mixed race…and no money…and the guy ends up being at Harvard. He's the president of the United States. And now he's like, ‘F--k me and everybody who made it like me.' "
At one point, Smith—normally an outspoken and polarizing figure himself—steps in to try to dial down Lovitz's diatribe, joking, "Hey, stop yelling at the 99 percent! Occupy Lovitz!"
Maybe Lovitz should've brought some placards.
