After a trying 2011, Mindy McCready has some good news to share.

On Monday, she and David Wilson welcomed a baby boy!

"[He] is truly a blessing and a joy," the 36-year-old singer said in a statement. "It was a long and trying pregnancy; we're so happy he's here. There are no words to convey how happy we are."

And just what did McCready name her new little bundle of joy?

Zayne!

It was announced in November that McCready was expecting twins. Asked for clarification today, her rep tells E! News: "At the time of the initial announcement surrounding Mindy's pregnancy, in consideration of her size, Mindy was certain she was carrying twins; a misinterpreted sonogram seemed to support her feelings and excitement."

The rep also said that because of "the newborn's arrival" and her "custody hearing surrounding her son, Zander," McCready's "unable to grant interviews at the time."

The troubled star set off family-service alarm bells in November by not bringing her 5-year-old son back home to Florida after a visit. (She had permission to visit Zander, whose father is McCready's ex Billy McKnight, but her mother had custody of the child.)

Although McCready violated a court order when she took him to Arkansas, she claimed she was simply protecting her child. Zander was subsequently placed in foster care in the state while the custody dispute was dealt with.

Despite McCready's tumultuous family situation, we wish her and her newborn all the best.
