So what are the kids on 21 Jump Street doing these days? Starting turf Twitter wars apparently.

Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are facing off online over who can garner the most followers on the microblogging site as part of a shameless PR stunt hyping their upcoming feature film based on Fox's '80s television series.

Here's what the two had to say to each other:

In a video posted on Saturday to Sony Pictures YouTube account (natch), a slimmed-down Hill heaps praise on his hunkier big-screen partner, but urged fans not to let Tatum get more Twitter followers than him by Nov. 2. Should Hill win, he promised to tweet out an early link to the 21 Jump Street red band trailer.

"Retweet this, tell your friends and help me get more followers than him. Because as great of a guy as he is, I'm a better one," Hill says.

The former G.I. Joe star wasn't having it. While acknowledging the Moneyball man is "super talented," he fired back with a little bravado of his own and promised that if he's victorious, he'd tweet out an early link to—you guessed it—the red band trailer.

Twitter wars are so 2009, but it looks like a win-win for 21 Jump Street fans.

For the record, as of press time Hill has 715,836 Twitter followers to Tatum's 626,008.
