If Chris Brown could've performed at last weekend's concert tribute to his idol, Michael Jackson, he would have beat it over to Cardiff, Wales.

But don't blame his inability to do so on his rap sheet.

The "Run It!" singer is dismissing reports that the felony status he earned for asasulting ex-GF Rihanna two and a half years ago prompted U.K. authorities to deny him an entry visa preventing him from taking part in Saturday night's ballyhooed, if controversial, event celebrating the late king of pop.

Instead, his camp chalked up his absence to his busy performance schedule.

"Chris was invited to participate in the Michael Jackson Tribute," Brown's publicist, Jeff Raymond, tells E! News. "However, his previously booked domestic F.A.M.E. tour concert dates didn't allow him to accept the honor and therefore he never planned to go to the U.K. He was not banned."

For the record (the factual, not criminal one), Brown had shows in Tampa, Fla., on Friday, Charlotte, N.C., on Saturday and Virginia Beach on Sunday in his home state of Virginia as part of his F.A.M.E. trek with Bow Wow, T-Pain and Tyga.

Guess that closes the book on that.
