The new Spidey reboot recently got itself a title. Now it looks like it's already getting a sequel.
Mind you, The Amazing Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfield doesn't hit theaters until July 3, 2012. In fact, they haven't even wrapped filming yet.
But apparently that hasn't stopped Columbia from asking the movie's screenwriter, James Vanderbilt, to pen another script about everybody's favorite web slinger, per the Hollywood Reporter.
Vanderbilt is said to have pitched his idea for a follow-up to the studio on Wednesday and was given the go-ahead to write it up, which will no doubt be good news for Garfield and the other principals who signed multi-film deals in the event the first one is a success.
Provided, of course, they don't turn it into a movie musical.
