This is sad news for Olivia Wilde: The gorgeous Tron: Legacy actress and her Italian royal husband, Tao Ruspoli, have decided to separate after eight years of marriage, Wilde's rep confirms to E! News.
So what happened?
A source told People that the couple had reportedly been living separately for some time now and had tried to work it out, but in the end, decided to call it quits.
Wilde, 26, met Ruspoli, 35, when she was just 18 years old. Six months after meeting, the two eloped in Virginia, though they later had a real wedding. Ruspoli is an L.A.-based filmmaker and documentarian. His family owns the Palazzo Ruspoli in Rome and a castle in Vignanello, Italy.
Wilde's name had popped up on the short list of actresses rumored to be in talks to play Superman's Lois Lane, and she's currently taking on the role of Justin Timberlake's mother—yes, mother!—in the upcoming sci-fi thriller Now.
