Russell Brand Reacts to Katy Perry's Sesame Street Eviction

Singer's soon-to-be hubby is cracking wise after her big boobs get her cut from the venerable kids' show

Unlike some folks out there, Russell Brand has no issues with the Katy Perry boob tube.

The British funnyman took to Twitter to poke fun at his fiancée for getting cut from Sesame Street after a few breast-averse parents complained about her duet with Elmo on "Hot N Cold" that was scrapped from next Monday's season premiere.

"@katyperry today's Sesame Street will NOT be brought to you by the number 34 or the letter D," he tweeted.

And just for good measure, Brand added: "@katyperry Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sex-with-me Street?"

But the "I Kissed a Girl" crooner didn't seem to be bothered by the cancellation.

"Wow, looks like my play date with Elmo has been cut short!" she tweeted yesterday. "If you still wanna play see it at www.katyperry.com Tag you're it, Elmo!"

Elmo wasn't exactly tickled, either.

Sesame Street's (aptly named) producer Carol-Lynn Parente appeared on Good Morning America today with Elmo and Grover and addressed the controversy.

"We would never produce anything that we thought was inappropriate. We were surprised not only by the amount of feedback but how fast it came in," she told GMA cohost George Stephanopolous. "We have a great interactive relationship with our viewers, particularly parents. They trust Sesame Street. We take that seriously and so we viewed a lot of the feedback and made what we thought was an appropriate decision."

She noted that that the reaction from parents was "very split."

When asked by Stephanopolous whether he was disappointed, Elmo took it in stride.

"Elmo loves Ms. Katy and we had a good time. So we'll have another date."

Taking a page from Katy's soon-to-be hubby, Grover cracked wise.

"George, George, how do you like my new outfit?  It's not too revealing is it?" quipped the Muppet, referring to his new Super Grover 2.0 get up.

The 35-year-old Brand and 25-year-old Perry meanwhile are getting ready to tie the knot in Hawaii in the coming weeks. Details are being kept mostly under wraps. But Perry just celebrated her pending nuptials with a bachelorette party in Las Vegas that featured a special performance by Rihanna.

And who knows, maybe Elmo will be there, too.
