Another weekend, another award show. This time, it's the British Film and Television Arts Awards, which is the British equivalent of the Oscars. It's also one of the last important stops before the Academy Awards.

And just like every award show before the Oscars, the results serve as a potential predictor for the big show. Once again, all eyes were on The King's Speech, which could be cemented as the Best Picture front-runner with another big victory at the BAFTAs.

At this rate, Colin Firth is never gonna need that Harley Davidson.

Proving that the Brits are a bit partial to homegrown talent (and why shouldn't they be?), the awards magnet that is The King's Speech scored a field best 14 nominations from the BAFTA Awards this morning, including Best Film.

Trailing behind—but only slightly—is Black Swan, which pirouetted its way to 12 nominations. The Social Network rounded out the now-expected top trifecta with six.

But it wasn't all good news this morning—as the nominations rolled out, one very bittersweet honor emerged.
