Why the beef with Lady Gaga's meat dress?

We understand PETA defending its turf, but as for the rest of the outrage? So, Gaga wore a butcher's shop. So, the carpet at the Video Music Awards was white. So, she's lucky the thing didn't drip. The point is, it didn't.

Besides, do you know how many really, truly offensive things she should could've worn? We do.

1. A Little Black Dress: Do you know how insulting that simple classic would've been to the living memory of Madonna? If not the VMAs itself? Gaga is a Diva, capital D. She is supposed to dress like one. In other words, she is not supposed to dress like you.

2. A Potato Dress: A meat dress is a tribute to our nation's abundance of food. A potato dress is an insult to Ireland's Great Famine, which, yes, ran its course more than 150 years ago, but still...In any case, the sour cream would've gotten everywhere. Plus, the carbs! The carbs!

3. Danielle Staub: Can you think of more delightful arm candy? Well, not to add insult to hair-extension injury, but actually, yes, we can.

4. A T-Shirt From the Dove World Outreach Center: We'd directly link to the church's site, and to its "Islam Is of the Devil" fashions, but we understand pastor Terry Jones disdains the spotlight.

5. What Cher Wore: OK, scratch that. What Cher wore was cool. But if Gaga has any designs on making like Cher, and turning back time at the 2030 VMAs with her by-then-vintage meat dress, then that will not be cool. And probably a health hazard.
