Although A-Rod accompanied Kate Hudson on the London leg of her Nine promotional tour, there was no sign of him at the NYC premiere last night.
Instead, Kate was escorted down the red carpet by another famous face: her mom, Goldie Hawn.
Despite rumors of a recent split, Kate was all smiles on her big night.
"...This is the first time I've really been excited to share something with her that she hasn't seen yet," Kate told E! News of why her mom was the perfect date for the dance and musical movie premiere. "She started as a dancer and put my ass in dance class when I was 3 and made me stay there!"
Another benefit to bringing a famous mom as your plus-one?
Goldie got to do some of the talking during the interview and deflect any questions about the possible breakup.
At the afterparty at M2, Kate still seemed happy.
"She seemed to be in really good spirits, dancing and sipping martini cocktails with her mom," a source says of the afterparty.
Both Life & Style and Gawker's Gatecrasher report that the mother-daughter duo had drinks at Strada 57 on Monday, where Goldie was giving her guy advice.
"It was clear Kate and A-Rod were fighting or had broken up, from the way she was speaking about him," an eyewitness tells Life & Style. "At one point, Goldie told Kate, 'Just take the high road. Lead your own way.'"
Reps for both Kate and Alex haven't commented.
