The wait is over.
In July 2015, Mike WiLL Made-It tweeted a 15-second video clip featuring a snippet of Rihanna singing. "New [fire emoji] w @Rihanna OTW!" he wrote. " Who thinks they're ready?" Fans were eager to hear their collaboration, and on Thursday, they finally got their chance. "Nothing Is Promised" is the first single off the hip-hop producer's album, Ransom 2. "I warned y'all we was taking over the game," Mike WiLL Made-It wrote on Facebook after the song was released.
"Nothing Is Promised" is now available on iTunes.
In the first verse, Rihanna sings, "Shoppin' in Paris / We gon' go shoppin' in Paris, n---a / They can't even compare us / They can't even compare us, we're rarer than n---as / Rarer' than n---as / I never did mention that she ain't comin' / That s--t ain't common / We swimmin' in money, we drownin' in hundreds / I keep a duffle bag on me like Tity Boi and Dolla / Bruh we ain't takin' that weed, oh no / And if they don't love me, f--k whatcha talkin' 'bout / I'm in love with the cash, I put that on my mama and father." In the second verse, she sings, "Goin' to France / We gon' vacation in France, n---a / Advanced n---as / Can't nobody stop me, I'm past n---as / I'm past my limit / I'm drunk and I'm blowin' a whole lot of gas, n---a / Ten million in cash / Put up in a stash, it's under my mattress / I put the money in the ground like my n---a Frank Luke / Got a turbo Porsche and I don't even move it / I'm back on the green its so hard not to use it / I'm continuously winnin', my n---a, I can't see me losin'."
The eight-time Grammy Award winner repeats the hook three times (and in the bridge), singing, "Ain't none of this s--t promised, ain't none of this promised / Ain't none of this s--t promised, ain't none of this promised / Ain't none of this s--t certain, ain't none of this certain / Ain't none of us perfect, I hope it was worth it."
Many fans assumed "Nothing Is Promised" would appear on Rihanna's long-delayed album, ANTI. "I'd never lie, enjoy Rih's new album it's lit, #RANSOM2 Friday..." Mike Will Made-It tweeted after ANTI's Jan. 28 release. "And stay tuned for anything else #NothingsPromised." Rihanna, meanwhile, was most recently featured on Calvin Harris' "This Is What You Came For."
