Drama Series: The Sopranos
It's gonna be a bada-bing night. While David Chase may have been vilified for the fade-to-black end of HBO's long-running hit mob series, The Sopranos is the nostalgia favorite. It's the last time Tony & Co will be in the running for TV's highest honor, and the other contenders have plenty of time to rack up their own statuettes.
The Sopranos' total number of nominations since it was first eligible in 1999 is a staggering 111. Only once—in 2004—did it pick up an Outstanding Drama Series win. But I think the show will do it again on Sept. 16.
And that's what I would call a killer send-off.
