Congratulations are in order for Timothy V. Murphy and his wife, Caitlin Manley.
The couple welcomed their first child together on July 22, and it's a boy! The former Sons of Anarchy star shared the great news with fans on social media, posting adorable photos of his new bundle of joy. True to both parents' Irish roots, the newborn's name is Sean Fionn.
Murphy lovingly told People, "As Helen Rowland once said, 'A man's desire for a son is usually nothing but the wish to duplicate himself in order that such a remarkable pattern may not be lost to the world.'"
The actor—who has nabbed screen time on True Detective and Grace and Frankie—also shared a precious photo of Manley and Sean in the sweetest embrace.
"I just need to say a big thank u for all the well wishes&love from everyone. I'm overwhelmed by all the support. Big Love to everyone!!" Manley, an independent filmmaker, tweeted after giving birth.
While a simple glance at this candid shot of father and son seems perfectly innocent, a second look reveals the little tyke is slyly flashing his tiny middle finger to the camera!
"His fathers son!!!" Murphy joked of the hilarious moment.
And while Murphy still has time to enjoy his newfound fatherhood status, come fall, the actor will be gearing up to premiere his new medieval FX series, The Bastard Executioner, with SOA creator Kurt Sutter and True Blood's Stephen Moyer.
