Prior to making her debut on the cover of Vanity Fair, Caitlyn Jenner felt like a prisoner in her own home. Unable to leave her Malibu, Calif., house because of the paparazzi, Caitlyn reveals in a new, behind-the-scenes documentary from that photo shoot that hiding her identity has been hard.

"I haven't really left," she admits.

But as soon as the cover was released, she was able to live her life freely.

"Now to be honest with you I really don't care [about the paparazzi]," she says. "Every day is a new adventure."

Since making her official public debut, Caitlyn explains that she has pretty much done away with all of her old clothes, even though at one point her closet was split half-and-half with men and women's clothes. Telling the cameras, "The boys stuff is gone," Caitlyn gushes about how wonderful it has been to be living her true authentic self.

"This is about your life, about who you are," she explains, teary eyed, "and the last few days have been absolutely amazing.

"I had never thought that someday I would be able to do this," she adds. "It's been great."

Now that she is out and about living life the way she wants to, Caitlyn tells the cameras that helping other transgender people is her No. 1 priority. The positive feedback, she explains, has been wonderful, but adds that not everybody has the same experience as she has had. With her new show, I Am Cait, and her work with advocacy groups, Caitlyn just wants to be able to make a small difference in the lives of others.

"I hope with my honesty I can make it easier for somebody else down the line," she says.

Her confidence and positive attitude have affected those around her, including everyone involved with the photo shoot. During the filming of the behind-the-scenes video, an interviewer notes that even famed photographer Annie Leibovitz cried upon seeing Caitlyn and how happy she truly was.

When Caitlyn finally saw what she truly looked like for the first time, courtesy of a mirror during the photo shoot, she couldn't believe it.

"[My appearance] was over the top better than I thought it'd be, especially at my age," Caitlyn says. "Seeing that image was powerful to me."

Now, all she wants to do is keep moving forward and help others.

"I am so excited about the future," she gushes.
