At the time, Chastain had yet to meet the hunky Sons of Anarchy actor, but he had just been cast in Fifty Shades of Grey.
"Are you telling me I'm going to fall in love with Charlie Hunnam on set?" Chastain asked back in September 2013.
Fast forward to Comic-Con 2015, where I caught up with Chastain and her two other Crimson co-stars Tim Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska.
"I did not fall in love with Charlie, press out!" Chastain said with a big smile. "I do love him, but I'm not in love with him."
Gushing that Hunnam is "absolutely gorgeous," Chastain revealed that he's also quite the gift-giver. "He's so nice," she said. "He bought me this incredible thoughtful birthday present, this amazing artist and this book of photographs. He's just this normal down-to-earth [guy]. So cool." (For the record, Chastain been seeing Italian fashion executive Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo for quite some time now, certainly before Crimson Peak filming came along.)
In the Guillermo Del Toro-directed Crimson Peak, Wasikowska plays a young author in 19th century England who lives in a house full of ghosts with her mysterious husband (Hiddleston). Chastain plays Hiddleston's seemingly evil sister.
Chastain said she hopes she gets to encounter some real ghosts in her new NYC apartment because the 19th century building is said to be haunted by its architect and an opera singer.
"I have yet to feel anything," Chastain said. "If there [are] ghosts, let's hang out."
Watch the video below to watch Hiddelston doing his very impressive impression of Chris Evans.
