You'd think a teen movie with die in the title might have some kind of teeth, but even a perfect sphere has more edge than this movie, which initially seems like a clone of The Perfect Man (teenage girl has a hot mom who keeps moving house every time a man dumps her), but evolves into a gender-reversed youth variant on In the Company of Men--sans skill, satire or point.
Scorned by their lying boyfriend John Tucker (Jesse Metcalfe, capable of better), a trio of high school beauties (Arielle Kebbel, Ashanti and Sophia Bush) plot revenge by contriving to make John fall hard for new girl Brittany Snow, who will then cruelly dump him so that he feels everyone's pain. Had the movie even the slightest bit of courage in its cruel convictions, there might have been something worthwhile here. As is, everyone turns out to be pretty nice after all, which isn't a recipe for humor or high drama.
