Prepare to be caught in Wonder Woman's lasso because a new trailer for the upcoming film just dropped.
In a fresh trailer for Gal Gadot's first solo venture as Diana Prince, Wonder Woman teams up with Chris Pine to fight "the war that ends all wars." The footage shows Diana stopping bullets with her powers in order to defend Pine and the world.
The movie, which is slated for release on June 2, 2017, stars Pine as her partner and famous mortal love interest, fighter pilot Steve Trevor, and Robin Wright as General Antiope and Diana's aunt.
"It's a sacred duty to defend the world, and it's what I'm going to do," Diana says in the trailer.
For Gadot, Wonder Woman was a personal role model long before she ever got the part to embody her in this year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
"It was important for me that we show how independent she is. She is not relying on a man, and she's not there because of a love story. She's not there to serve someone else," she told Glamour of her vision for the character.
"She has so many strengths and powers, but at the end of the day she's a woman with a lot of emotional intelligence...I think women are amazing for being able to show what they feel. I admire women who do. I think it's a mistake when women cover their emotions to look tough. I say let's own who we are and use it as a strength."
Gadot's husband of eight years, Yaron Versano, certainly loves his partner's strength.
"He's super happy to be married to Wonder Woman," she told E!'s Maria Menounos. "He's so proud. He's so happy. He's my biggest fan and I love him. The only thing that changed is that he started training more because I became so strong."
