People from all over the world watched Shailene Woodley get arrested as she was protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline earlier today, and now several stars are speaking out.
The Fault in Our Stars' Ansel Elgort weighed in on the incident on Twitter and directed fans to read up on what the 24-year-old was protesting for.
Meanwhile, author John Green wrote, "@ShaileneWoodley walks the walk, and I deeply admire her determined and passionate activism."
Those weren't the only two to take to social media to defend the actress, either. In fact, several others including Mark Ruffalo and Maggie Q publicly supported her efforts.
Woodley and 26 others were arrested for trespassing early Monday morning while they were engaging in a peaceful protest at the Dakota Access Pipeline.
Woodley captured the entire ordeal on Facebook Live to make sure that there was a record of everything that took place.
A local police officer was overheard telling her, "We can't talk right here, but you're going to be placed under arrest for criminal trespassing."
Woodley then says on camera, "Alright, I'm being arrested because I was trespassing like everyone. As soon as you guys asked me to leave, I left…I'm being arrested. I was down there with everybody else. I don't know what's going on? As soon as they came, I left…It's because I'm well-known. It's because I have 40,000 people watching."
She added, "So everybody knows, we were going to our vehicle which they had all surrounding and waiting for me with giant guns and a giant truck behind them just so they could arrest me. I hope you're watching mainstream media."
