Why Katy Perry Might Wear a Diaper Underneath Her 2016 Met Gala Dress

Katy Perry knows how to stand out in a crowd.

The 31-year-old "Roar" singer will be one of many stars putting her best foot forward on the 2016 Met Gala red carpet Monday. Though Perry has not revealed exactly which designer's duds she'll be in, one thing is known: her dress is a tad fussy. "I'm wearing a really large thing tomorrow, which will be very difficult to use the restroom in. I might just wear a diaper. I don't really care. I am just going to be looking around for people to help me to the restroom," she told reporters Sunday at a CoverGirl event, held at The Waterfall Mansion in New York City. "I'll feel like one of those brides or something, but there's a lot going on with the dress."

The pop star was promoting the CoverGirl Katy Kat Collection, which includes 13 demi-matte lipsticks and two mascaras, in black and blue. "I already know I'm going to wear the Perry Panther and I'm going to attempt to wear the Perry Blue Mascara and keep everything a little more simple," she said of her Met Gala look. "Those are already two striking colors that you don't necessarily always look to for your eyes and lips, so in that way, it's different."

Perry told E! News her beauty regimen doesn't change much leading up to a big event like the Met Gala. "It's hard, because New York is all about nightlife and lack of self-control, so I'll try and put myself to bed with a Sleepytime tea tonight." Thankfully, the event isn't until later. "I'm not great with mornings," she said. "I'll probably have a facial this evening and do some of those LED lights—which are probably a crock of crap—but I do them anyway."

The singer, who is rumored to be making her red carpet debut with her boyfriend, Orlando Bloom, said she will be "drinking water" to keep her skin looking hydrated and radiant. Most importantly, she told E! News, "I never go to sleep with makeup on—very rarely. I used to keep my makeup on because I didn't necessarily want to 'pull back that part' if I was having a friend over. Or I would get up like an hour earlier and be like, 'Yeah, I woke up like this.' No, I don't wake up like that. I look like a potato, somewhat, but I love dabbling with makeup and I always have," she said. "I like highlighting whatever you do have, so that's why I wanted to do this."

Like many Hollywood stars, Perry will sometimes get "some lasers and very slight peels—nothing heavy" to freshen her appearance. "For my age, I don't need anything more than lasers, and I think technology is so great. You do one like every three, four, six months you are good," the Grammy winner said. "I don't necessarily need to put the holes in the skin yet and pull it back like Marlene Dietrich."
