E! News has confirmed that the Britney Spears dance video leaked yesterday on MSN.com does not show a rehearsal for a performance on Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Talent manager/producer Larry Rudolph, who is working with Britney, tells E!: "She is definitely not performing!"

Turns out, the video was just a general dance rehearsal as Britney gets back in shape for performances.

Fashion Week Starts Strong With Fashion Rocks

Beyonce Stephen Lovekin/Getty Images

She's got style for miles. Kicking off New York Fashion Week, Beyoncé looked fabulous in this beautiful banana-colored gown at Friday night's Fashion Rocks event.

But beautiful B. then proceeded to belt out a stellar version of Etta James' classic "At Last" to a star-studded crowd—which included Etta James herself. Nice.

A classy look, a class act.

Beyoncé later dueted with Justin Timberlake on a crowd-pleasing "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing" (other musical guests included the Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Kid Rock, Mary J. Blige, Miley Cyrus and Mariah Carey).

But the fashion statements themselves also moved the New York fashionista throngs. Sample some of the stars' finery in our Fashion Rocks 2008 Gallery.

Snoop's Road Warriors Head Into the Home Stretch

The tour may be winding down for the final few shows in Texas, but KillahKev and the whole Snoop Dogg team are still all wound up. Check out the posse peeps getting wild and loose, dunking hoops and partying with Willie Nelson's crew. One dude even gets engaged! This is the next-to-last ep, so take a deep breath...and hold it. Enjoy!

"Some People Wait a Lifetime for a Moment Like This"

Ryan Seacrest, Randy Jackson

This food fight between Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson brought up a lot of lunch, er, good captions from users, like the winning one above, submitted by Kyla.

Here were some of our other "Caption This" faves:

Bride: "This ain't aw-ight, dawg!!"

Ellen: "I don't know, Dawg...this sandwich tastes a little PITCHY."

Ana: "Is it too much if I ask for a bit of tongue?"

Gina: "Dawg, that's my bone!"

Clearly it's a dawg-eat-dawg world out there in the music biz, but our Idol idols are taking that a tad too literally.

Appreciation: The Man With "The Voice of God"

According to Don LaFontaine, a car insurance commercial changed his life.

"There goes any anonymity I might have had…" LaFontaine mused on his website.

The popular 2006 Geico commercial helped the larger public put a face to the authoritative baritone they'd heard for four decades in more than 5,000 movie trailers and in countless TV commercials, TV specials and network promos.

When LaFontaine passed away Monday at age 68, he was as famous as a rarely seen Hollywood figure can be.

Maybe LaFontaine would have suggested the Geico spot was the source of his celebrity. But his "greatest hits," 10 classic LaFontaine-voiced trailers compiled this week by the London Independent, leave no doubt.

LaFontaine's "Voice of God" was the star maker.

New Season of Project Runway Not In Till '09

Project Runway Season 5 Bravo

Project Runway is going to be auf the air for a little longer than expected.

Lifetime, which will be the Emmy-nominated series' new home once the current cycle ends, said Friday that it is delaying the premiere of the show's sixth season until January 2009.

"With this move, the series will resume its traditional cycle of two seasons per year," a network rep told Entertainment Weekly. "We look forward to ringing in the new year by giving Project Runway loyal fans a superlative season six with Heidi, Tim, Nina and Michael. The new date and time will be announced soon.”

Stand Up to Cancer Gets a Rise Out of Hollywood

Christina Applegate abc

The stars came out tonight with hopes of brightening the way for years to come.

Halle Berry, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Aniston, Salma Hayek, Ellen DeGeneres, Keanu Reeves, Billy Crystal, Scarlett Johansson, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, Casey Affleck, America Ferrera, Fran Drescher, Forest Whitaker, John Krasinski, Christina Applegate, Josh Brolin and Masi Oka are just some of the A-listers who participated Friday in the Stand Up to Cancer telethon, benefiting cancer research, at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre.

Meryl Streep, Charlize Theron, the stars of Lost, Lance Armstrong, Tina Fey and some fellow 30 Rockers, Carson Daly and Tom Green also spoke up via video.

But despite a roster of names that wouldn't have seemed out of place at the Oscars, it was sobering to see how many of the event's participants' lives have been affected by cancer, including Applegate, who, after being diagnosed with breast cancer this year, underwent a preventative double mastectomy, and Katie Couric, whose husband, Jay Monahan, died of colon cancer in 1998.

Leighton Meester's Ex-Con Mom Books Herself

Leighton Meester Eric Liebowitz/The CW

Lynne Spears isn't the only celebrity mom coming out with a memoir.

E! News has learned exclusively that Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester's mother, Connie Meester, who gave birth to her daughter while doing time in a Texas prison for a drug-related crime, may soon be coming to a bookshelf near you.

Connie's manager, Loch Powell, confirms that Mama Meester has penned "a memoir" about her family life that began as a screenplay "three or four years ago," but that she has yet to find a publisher.

The book will reportedly tell Connie's life journey from drug-ring co-conspirator to suburban real estate agent to author and, of course, to the rearing of her TV star child.

Spider-Man 4: Tobey Not a Lock—Yet?

More from The Awful Truth

Call it the battle of the contractual web weavers. Tobey Maguire's very interested in doing the next Spider-Man sequel, sure, and now there's word today that the deal is done. Not true at all, blab several top sources on the project, who say the news about Spidey 4—and maybe 5—is jumping the gun.

These film insiders insist that the Tobey sealed-up talk is "premature," though it does look like Maguire is headed toward putting on that sexy suit again. Tobe-doll made roughly $17 mil on the last flick alone, minimum, right? What idiot wouldn't for that kind of loot?

Here's how it's going down:
