There's only one pairing more natural than beer ads and buxom blondes, and that's Jessica Simpson and Texas.

The marketing geniuses over at Dallas' Stampede Brewing Co. brought the foursome together, bagging the country (née pop) star as their newest spokeswoman.

While the full financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, Simpson will receive a 15 percent stake in the brewery in addition to appearing in ads for Stampede Light Plus.

As the name suggests, it is a light beer aimed at imbibers with an active lifestyle. A girl's gotta keep her figure somehow.

Avril's "Sexy" Show Gets Scrapped

Avril Lavigne Kevin Mazur/WireImage.com

If Malaysian officials' logic holds, Avril Lavigne is sexier than Gwen Stefani and the Pussycat Dolls and just as potentially morally corrupting as Beyoncé.

The Canadian faux-punkette has become the latest Western pop star to face trouble in the Asian country as she was uninvited from performing a planned Kuala Lumpur gig. The Muslim-majority country's Arts, Culture and Heritage Ministry canceled the show today amid growing protests and claims the singer was, quite simply, "too sexy."

While that, of course, is entirely subjective, the timing of the planned gig—just two days before the nation's Independence Day on Aug. 29—was not and, per a senior ministry official, was the real reason for the cancellation.

Gary Glitter's fear of flying has apparently flown away.

After an hourslong standoff in a Bangkok airport, which began with a brief layover for the recently sprung British glam rocker and included the feigning of a heart attack and a refusal to board a Britain-bound plane, Glitter has finally agreed to exit Thailand.

The glam rocker, who was released Monday from a Vietnam prison after serving three years on child-molestation charges, was expected to make just a brief pit stop in Bangkok before continuing back to his native England Wednesday. But after landing in Thailand, he announced he didn't plan on leaving.

The Dave Matthews Band brass has been silenced.

Saxophonist LeRoi Moore, one of the founding members of the Virginia-based jam band, died Tuesday afternoon at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles, E! News has confirmed. He was 46.

Exact cause of death is unknown, but it was due to complications from critical injuries that Moore sustained in a June 30 ATV crash on his farm near Charlottesville, Va.

Moore, who suffered a punctured lung and broken ribs at the time, had not performed with DMB since his accident, but had returned to L.A.—where the band is performing tonight at Staples Center—to begin an "intensive physical rehabilitation program," according to a statement released by DMB.

After opening tonight's show with "Bartender," Dave Matthews quieted the audience and informed them that "our good friend LeRoi Moore" had passed away.

"He gave up his ghost to heaven and we will miss him always," the singer said.
