You must see it for yourself.

That's the first thing to know about Dominic Monaghan's photography exhibit. If you live in the Los Angeles area, go.

Not only is it some really fantastic artwork for a celebrity photographer, it's really fantastic artwork period. As it turns out, Dom has been snapping shots for many years, developing a keen eye for the unusual, surreal and breathtakingly beautiful.

His show, Happy Accidents, is up through March 27 at the Hamilton Selway Fine Art Gallery on Melrose, and it's divided into three subjects: nature shots (starring eight-legged friends and his chameleon, Karma), industry shots (hello, Billy, Matthew, Josh, Jorge, Ian!) and the titular accidents, which Dom says occur "when you point the camera at a subject and it does something that you don’t quite expect to happen, but it’s a beautiful thing."

So how did the exhibit come about? And what's up with Charlie and Lost and the rest of Dom's projects? Click onto the video clips above and below for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour with Dom, who reveals some dish I didn't even know about Lost's pilot and more.

If you'd like more info on the exhibit or how to purchase Dom's photos, check out the Hamilton-Selway Fine Art website. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation. (Warning: If you click on the organization's website, your heart will melt.)
