In case you overslept after the "Kiss on the Lips" party and missed it, this town has been all abuzz today with rumors that Mischa Barton would be joining Gossip Girl as an old friend of Serena van der Woodsen.
Scandalous, no? But is it true?
If you ask our pal "G" (Gawker), Mischa has indeed been approached for the GG role. We just contacted Mischa's reps, and they tell us reports of her going to Gossip Girl are "not true."
Something tells me many of you are popping a little celebratory champagne...while others have been reduced to the fetal position and tears.
Sources close to GG tell us that "J" (Josh Schwartz) has wanted to bring Mischa on to the series as a makeup to the countless number of fans around the world who still write to him asking: "Why did you kill off Marissa?"
We may never know for sure, but something tells me it's best that "M" is not joining the Upper East Siders. Chances are she'd end up hooking up with one of Blair's boys, which would be just as lethal.
