As the saying goes, there’s no such thing as bad publicity, but Us Weekly is apparently feeling the backlash of lashing out at vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin.
The celebrity-gossip-fueled publication has reportedly lost thousands of subscribers due to the cover line "Babies, Lies & Scandal" used to describe Palin. So far, unofficial estimates range from 5,000 to 10,000 cancellations, figures denied by a representative for Wenner Media, the publisher of Us Weekly, who said, “it is completely false that we are losing 10,000 subscribers.”
Soup Blog sources report rumors that the unnamed source went on to say, "In retrospect, it's good we didn’t go with 'Evil, Gun-Loving, Moose-Killing, Beauty Pageant Loser.'"
