Hold onto your plaid button-ups and cowboy boots, 'cause Jessica Simpson just won't give up on this whole friggin' country thing. As announced, Jess just signed herself up for a membership with the Country Music Association, meaning she can nominate and vote for CMA Awards. Gal's getting pretty desperate to make this twangy episode in her life work, ain't she? Lord knows her place in pop didn't last long.

Same goes for her sis. The Simpson gals never seem to know who they are, so their style (musical and fashion) is always all over the place. And these aren't Madonna-like transformations—no, they're just confused singers hoping something will successfully stick.

Wonder if Jessie signed up simply so she could nominate herself? Who else is going to give darling J.S. the adulation she desires, save for the Simpson-Wentzes and Romos? With the recent she said-she said phone calling debacle, we're sure Tony's ex and fellow CMA member Carrie Underwood is friggin' thrilled about the new edition. Serious. A chance for Idol's Sweetheart to go head-to-head in the biz with Pop's Fallen Virgin? That's a no contest vocal victory for C-babe, like we had to tell you that.
