Actor Ryan Gosling can now add DJ to his growing résumé.

The Notebook star took over the turntables last night at Hollywood's Green Door to test out his spinning skills.

"Ryan wanted to try something new," a source tells E! News of his latest venture. "He's with friends, doing something creative."

So what was on his playlist?

Forget typical party anthems by Britney Spears or Kanye West.

Instead, he played '40s- and '50s-era doo-wop tracks for partygoers. The period pieces were a prelude to the weekly live jazz night at the club, where the likes of Prince and Macy Gray have performed limited and one-off engagements.

While no commitment has been made, Gosling's set to appear throughout the month at the venue, in case you're hoping to catch him in the act.
