"She looked fabulous with a red lip," noted celebrity hairstylist Marc Mena. "Her slicked-back hair showed off her stunning makeup and made her look sophisticated yet sultry." Marc has styled stars like Olivia Munn, Audrina Patridge and Mario Lopez.
"One of our most favorite red carpets moments was Nina Dobrev looking red-hot in Donna Karan," said Nikki Lee, co-owner of Nine Zero One salon about her stunning client. "This gown fits her like a glove and with her rich brown locks and bronzed skin, she's absolutely smoldering. This look was unforgettable in our books."
"She looked smoking hot showing off her spectacular slimmed down figure in a show-stopping, sexy red dress by Pamella Roland with a plunging neckline," recalled style and beauty blogger Nashelly Messina.
"Alexa Chung went for fun and flirty that night. The red lip added sexiness to her otherwise girly look," remembered hair guru Marc Mena. "Without the bold lip, Alexa might have looked like she was going to the beach and not the red carpet."
"As someone who defines red carpet style, January Jones is the poster child for daring red carpet looks," noted celebrity hairstylist Riawna Capri. "The stunning yet revealing Versace gown she wore to the 2011 Golden Globes grabbed your attention, while her soft Hollywood glam hairdo solidified her as a reigning goddess of style and grace." Riawna is known for working with stars like Blake Lively, Heidi Klum and Vanessa Hudgens.
"I LOVE wigs. They are not taboo anymore, and you can have so much fun with them, especially at events like the Grammys," said celebrity colorist Jennifer J. "The best wig moment at the Grammys for me was when Nicki Minaj wore a red nun-inspired, custom cloak by Versace. Her shocking platinum wig made the outfit even more memorable." Jennifer has graced the hair color of stars like Julia Roberts, Cate Blanchett, January Jones and Kristen Stewart.
"Pink went red with this red-hot performance when she performed "Glitter in the Air" at the 2010 Grammys," said celebrity hairstylist Marc Mena. "How she managed to perform an aerial routine while singing, I'll never know but it was on fire, and I'm just red with jealously that she is able to do that. It was so eloquent and beautiful, and I think we were all in awe of her talents."
You can't talk about red red carpet gorgeousness without talking about the show-stopping Ralph Lauren cape dress that Lupita wore at the 2014 Golden Globes. That dress helped to define her as a style icon and a red carpet must-see.
"Beyoncé turned a more masculine pantsuit into an elegant evening look by simply adding a red lip," said Marc Mena. "Adding this pop of color softened the ensemble and added perfect contrast to her black and white outfit."
Rihanna's look was so memorable that both Marc Mena and Nashelly Messina couldn't forget it.
"My favorite red Rihanna look was in 2013. She stunned on the carpet with this red chiffon Azzedine Alaïa gown," noted Marc Mena. "She added a bold red lip, which I loved. Grammys fashion is all about taking risks, and Rihanna took a red-hot risk and nailed it with this look."
"Rihanna graced the red carpet wearing an unexpected, soft and airy red gown by Azzedine Alaïa that made her look like red carpet royalty," Nashelly added. "Simply divine."
One thing that we love about Jennifer's style is her ability to surprise us when she wears something bold like this red Valentino jaw-dropper.
"We see a lot of red in red carpet beauty, and adding a bold red lip is a great way to add some sexiness to your outfit," advised Marc Mena. "Rihanna is someone who always brings the fire to the red carpet. From her sizzling red hair to her smoking-hot dresses, she loves putting the red in red carpet. In 2011, Rihanna's red carpet makeup and hair look were super edgy. Her sheer, white Jean Paul Gaultier dress made her auburn hair, eyes and lips pop. Her beauty look was fiery, and her dress was angelic, making this look really work."
