He (Vincent D'Onofrio) is a schizophrenic time traveler from 400 years in the future. She (Marisa Tomei) is a lethargic codependent trying to get a grip on life. Oh, and D'Onofrio may or may not be insane. Sound crazy? It is, and that's the charm to this quirky romantic comedy. It's totally goofy and sensibly warm in the same instant. Tomei and D'Onofrio have great chemistry and the script, by writer-director Brad Anderson (Next Stop Wonderland), makes all the right moves even if the sci-fi angle is a bit phooey.
Beyond the futuristic freakiness, Happy Accidents is a timeless love story.
