Watch this dragging indie, and you'll wonder who's more trapped: Vertical Limit's Robin Tunney, who's under house arrest in the bad part of town for allegedly running over a cop; or you, stuck in the theater waiting out this going-nowhere tale about how a security bracelet can't shackle someone's spirit (or something). With O Brother's Tim Blake Nelson as a social worker who falls for Tunney, this little number has an interesting cast (well, except for 90210's Jason Priestley in a tiny role), but the movie does so little with 'em.
We just get too much of Tunney roller-skating around her flat, watching TV or playing with her monitoring device. And some quick Rockford Files-like detective work at the movie's tail end only confuses. You'll only cherish the closing credits of this one.
