And then there was life...

That's pretty much what most fashion fans felt when Zendaya emerged in this stunning, vibrant, butterfly-inspired Moschino dress at The Greatest Showman premiere in Sydney. The actress is a veritable style chameleon: one day, she's channeling the edgiest, avant-garde look, and the next, she's displaying her most delicate, feminine sensibilities. This week, the singer-dancer-designer took the magical, enchanting theme of her latest flick to heart, pairing the over-the-top, one-shoulder gown with a '20s-inspired wavy bob and simple strappy heels. Just like the movie will surely be, this look was so much to look at, and we were delighted by it all.

While Zendaya was certainly the style star of the week, she certainly does not stand alone when it comes to making a red carpet impression. It may be the holidays soon and a short week for some, but celebrities still brought their fashion A-game. A black-and-white trend may have made formalwear come easier, but that doesn't mean these looks were less impactful.

Kristen Wiig

The comedian was a lovely contrast—in a black-and-white one-shoulder Marc Jacobs dress—in front of the Downsizing step-and-repeat. While the ensemble was in full bloom, we couldn't stop staring at her stunning matching shoes.

Nina Agdal

The model took the NYBG Winter Wonderland Gala theme to heart, appearing as, well, winter wonderland incarnate in an ethereal lace dress and voluminous waves.

Samira Wiley

The Orange Is the New Black star proved that an all-black ensemble can be professional, chic, fancy, edgy...basically anything you want it to be with the right styling and accessories. For the 2017 CNN Heroes event, the actress complemented a low neckline with exaggerated sleeves and tailored-to-perfection trousers.

Laura Dern

The Big Little Lies star was bewitching in this Vassilis Zoulias ensemble. What really makes this all-black look work? The mix of fabrics and textures. The lace, velvet and metallic-tipped shoes all played together without overwhelming the senses.

Rosamund Pike

Can the Gone Girl actress do no wrong? Given the stark contrast in hues and all that ruffling, it would make sense that this Givenchy pre-fall 2018 dress might overwhelm the subject, but Rosamund wears it and wears it well.

Michelle Williams

Deck the halls! A celeb finally got into the festive spirit and sported holidays hues this week. Michelle looked like a chic display of holly in Louis Vuitton at the All the Money in the World premiere.

Zendaya

And the butterfly emerges! This wonderful, show-stopping moment will be forever remembered as Zendaya in Moschino at The Greatest Showman Sydney premiere.
