It was the summer of heartbreak, but a year later, have the wounds healed?

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale—one by one, the longtime famous pairs called it quits in the summer of 2015 and simultaneously broke all of our hearts in the process.

Had love officially died? While it seemed like Cupid had gone on a permanent vacation, the heartbreak would ultimately pass and pave the way for a fresh bout of romances for Tinseltown's biggest stars.

While there are a handful of so-called "rules" for the amount of time it should take to get over an ex, most of these former pairs moved on within the past year—but all in their special ways.

As the saying goes—different strokes for different folks! Here's a review of where all of those former couples are today.

After nearly a decade of dating and three children together, Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian called it quits. "Kourtney has always taken Scott back and been by his side, but now with three kids it has gotten old," a source told E! News in July 2015. "Kourtney has to do what's best for the kids."

In the months that followed, Scott entered rehab, but seemed to return to his partying ways just months later—models included. Meanwhile, Kourtney was feeling better than ever.

"Kourtney actually is really enjoying being single," a second source told E! News. "She feels confident and sexier then ever. A big weight has been lifted off of her since she started to put herself first."

Since the winter, however, Disick, Kardashian and their three children have often been spotted on outings and vacations together, alluding to a rekindled, but different family dynamic.

"We definitely tried for a long time. But relationships are exhausting!" she told Cosmopolitan recently. "Being able to focus on the kids and me right now is good."

While the reality star has said her future personal life is all up to God's plan, she nor Scott have seriously dated anyone else since their split.

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, on the other hand, each found love again after their shocking July divorce. The "Honey Bee" star sparked flames with his Voice colleague, a newly-divorced Gwen Stefani. The two have even ignited serious wedding rumors, though the "Used to Love You" singer recently just laughed them off. Meanwhile, Lambert found her own bliss with fellow country crooner, Anderson East

"The last year of my life has been one of heartache and healing, ... Of learning to be honest .... Accepting the flaws and celebrating the smiles. Finding peace in dark places ... having some moments alone with me. Facing fears and feelings... All of them," Miranda wrote on Instagram

After 13 years of marriage, fans thought Stefani and her beau Gavin Rossdale were going to last. Still, music's longtime superstar couple was not mean to be as the two parted ways in August 2015.

"While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment," the couple said in a statement at the time.

As the songstress managed the emotional rollercoaster of her divorce, she leaned on her boyfriend-to-be and Voice colleague Shelton for support.

"It went from...checking in on each other once a week through email—'This s--t happened to me, what happened to you?'—to maybe three times a week, then every day, to 'Hey, here's my phone number if you ever want to text.' Next thing I know, I wake up and she's all I care about, and I'm wondering if she feels the same about me," he told Billboard.

Stefani obviously did as the two are still going strong nearly a year later. Meanwhile, Rossdale has followed in his ex's footsteps by recently joining the UK's version of The Voice.

Shortly after celebrating their 10 year wedding anniversary, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck shocked the world when they announced their separation—but then continued to live on the same property.

Despite their divorce in progress, the estranged husband and wife joined each other on a family vacation together and spent the holidays with each other's extended families.

"Not a lot has changed since they split up as far as the kids are concerned," the source told E! News at the time. "Ben and Jen trade off taking them to school, depending on whose schedule is free that day. Sometimes they get coffee in the morning or take the kids to karate or for ice cream after school. They do a lot of stuff together, by choice. Even though just one of them could go and get the kids, they've been making an effort to both go together."

However, their relationship wasn't entirely smoothed over when Garner gave an emotionally raw interview to Vanity Fair, addressing their breakup and the cheating allegations swirling around Affleck and their since-fired nanny.

"Let me just tell you something. We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny. She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation," she explained.

"He's just a complicated guy. I always say, 'When his sun shines on you, you feel it.' But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it's cold. He can cast quite a shadow."

Still, they forged ahead—together. "They will continue to live in the house together and have no plans to change that arrangement," a source told E! News exclusively in March. "They are in a really good place right now. A lot of the dust has settled and they have become accustomed to their new life, which is separate but together in a lot of ways.

By August of this year, the two were still firmly committed to co-parenting, no matter how unusual their new normal might seem from the outside. "We are definitely a modern family," she said on Today. "We're doing really well."
