It's a big day for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, but it might be an even bigger day for Jennifer Aniston—at least if you ask the Internet.
Yes, it seems that Twitter is overwhelmingly #TeamJen. Lest we need to remind you, Brangelina's big divorce news this morning is sounding eerily similar to the split that rocked the world back in 2005. (In fact it was almost 11 years ago to the day that Pitt and Aniston's own divorce went through.) It's hard not to draw comparisons between the shock that Jen felt when news of Brad and Angelina's coupling broke, and the shock that Brad himself must be feeling right now.
Of course, the actual nitty gritty reasons for Jolie's divorce filings are still being worked out so we don't want to put words in her mouth, but the karma here is palpable. And Twitter is having a heyday with it.
And, luckily for the Internet, there are a lot of Jennifer Aniston GIFs that feel oddly applicable to this situation. We're not sure if Jen always knew in the back of her head that Brad and Angelina's marriage was going to go up in flames someday and was subconsciously trying to build up her meme repertoire for this very use, but it sure seems that way. What else would explain for the sheer number of times that Rachel Green said "Nooooooo" on Friends.
And don't even get us started on the serendipity of that scene from season 2, episode 7 (that would be "The One Where Ross Finds Out"). This surely is closure indeed for Jen, no matter whether you fall on her team or Team Angie. While the news of a divorce is always depressing, especially when there are so many children involved, it's important to look for the light at the end of the tunnel. We're nowhere near the end of the tunnel yet, but these memes are lighting the way pretty well in the meantime.
