BravoThe Walking Dead take note: The Real Housewives of New York City knows how to do a cliffhanger. Is that a sentence you ever thought you'd read? Yes, Bethenny Frankel's big revelation of photos of Tom with another woman to Luann de Lesseps happened at the very end of the episode and we were left with a "To Be Continued…," but it was damn good TV with enough info and action and just the right amount of tease.
Throughout the whole episode Bethenny avoided Luann, but certainly didn't avoid talking about the pictures she said she had of Luann's fiancé Tom making out with another woman that last Wednesday. She told Ramona Singer and Carole Radzwill about the situation at hand, but refused to show Ramona the picture. "This is definitely an atomic bomb," Ramona said. Of course Ramona went and told Sonja Morgan. Now the only people not in the know were Jules Wainstein, Dorinda Medley and Luann. They only know Bethenny asked Luann if she and Tom were monogamous.
"What are you, 3? I just told you don't tell anyone," Bethenny said. "And then you go tell Chrissy from Three's Company—it's like, what?"
Did anybody link Sonja and Suzanne Somers' Three's Company character before? It's uncanny.
At one point, Bethenny tried to call Tom herself, which just—wow. Can you imagine what that conversation would've been like?
The whole episode was basically Bethenny and everybody else in the know talking about the photos, with a side of Dorinda being annoyed with Ramona thrown in. Dorinda planned a trip to a sand bar, which meant going on a boat and packing food. This was not what Ramona wanted to do. She wanted macrame and rosé at some restaurant. While explaining the sand bar and poo pooing Ramona's objections, these were the subtitles for Dorinda: "Don't comfameezumased!" and "Whakinna places are great like azumas."
Ramona did not go to the sand bar. She said she wanted to rest after a late night. By rest she meant go shopping and have lunch with Sonja and Bethenny. An understandably annoyed Dorinda compared Ramona to a dog that bites and confronted her, but they quickly made up.
That brings us to Bethenny and Luann. Now, we here at E! watch a lot of TV. A lot, a lot. The sit down between Luann and Bethenny, where Bethenny was just chilling in her bikini, brought on the nerves. Oh yes, you could feel that tension through the screen. Bethenny could barely spit out what she knew, just that it was about Tom and it was a fact and she had the proof. Luann broke down and pleaded Bethenny not do this to her. She then ran from the room, shooing the cameras away. To be continued…
Two points we need to talk about that weren't central to the Bethenny/Luann stuff:
"'Chic, C'est La Vie!'" – People on a boat to Luann.
"'Chic, C'est La Vie,' they know my music! Sa bonne, sa bonne." – Luann.
"It doesn't get better for Luann." – Carole
"I made eggs francaise." – Carole to Luann when they were all assembling after a night out.
