Worlds collided on Difficult People when Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan of The Real Housewives of New York City headed to the Hulu series created by and starring Julie Klausner. For years Klausner shared her opinions on the ladies in the form of Real Housewives of New York City recaps. Her love of the ladies runs deep, so having Sonja and Luann there was "heaven," Klausner said.

"I mean, listen. I love my show because we have the best and most insane random, but just wildly, fabulously diverse guest stars—doing things you wouldn't necessarily expect them to be doing. My character, like me in real life, I recapped Housewives for Vulture, and I genuinely love those women and I genuinely love those shows. It was almost too easy to come up with a story having to do with the Housewives, we actually had to pare it back a little bit," Klausner told E! News ahead of the show's second season premiere. "The best thing is looking at the call sheet and seeing Lin-Manuel Miranda, Countess Luann de Lesseps coming in tomorrow, Nathan Lane on Friday. Ugh, I love my show. Method Man and Joel McHale meeting each other for the first time in a snowstorm before we shoot the scene in the lobby of a Broadway theater playing a revival of the Cats musical. These are things that I have always fantasized about without knowing."

Klausner and Billy Eichner star as Julie and Billy, struggling comics and actors in entertainment who aren't afraid to speak their mind, negative thoughts and all.

For her part, Luann credits a New York Times article with how she and Klausner became friendly and she said her time on Difficult People was "awesome." However, this isn't her first scripted role—she's appeared on Law & Order: SVU and Royal Pains as well.

"We met and she said would you consider being on the show… I thought how fun would this be. I love comedy, I love her and I love Billy Eichner. It was a great opportunity for me to do scripted, which was cool," Luann told us at the Difficult People season two premiere. "I laughed my way through the whole shoot, it was fun."

And Luann brought Sonja into the mix. "I'm an old friend of Julie's," she said. "Julie's been to my house. We just have fun together. We're all comedians."

Difficult People's RHONY episode, "Carter," is now streaming on Hulu. The Real Housewives of New York City airs Wednesdays, 9 p.m. on Bravo.

(E! and Bravo are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
