There's more crossover between the real-life royals and reality TV stars than you probably realize.

Did you know, for example, that Prince William and Duchess Kate will be related (by marriage) to a former Bachelor star next year when Pippa Middleton ties the knot next year? Indeed, Pippa is engaged to James Matthews, the older brother of Made in Chelsea's Spencer Matthews.

Spencer, 27, was an original cast member of Made in Chelsea when it premiered in 2011. In 2012, he starred on the U.K. version of The Bachelor, but his romance with the show's winner was short-lived. So after failing to find lasting love on the small screen series, Spencer returned to Made in Chelsea, where he remained a cast member through 2015.

According to Spencer's IMDB page, his reality TV resume also includes a 2015 stint on I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here and a recurring gig as a presenter on Loose Women. Life in the limelight seems to suit Spencer well, but he's also in quite thick with a group of people who try and maintain a lower-profile with their personal lives. That said, Pippa's future brother-in-law doesn't seem too shy about discussing his many royal connections.

"I went to Eton with Prince Harry he was a year above me," he said in a 2012 interview with Radio Times. "I know Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice really well, too. Bea's boyfriend Dave Clark is a very good friend of mine."

Spencer's not the only Made in Chelsea star with royal connections, though. According to Tatler, cast-member Richard Dinan is a friend of Harry's and first cousins with the Prince's ex-girlfriend, Cressida Bonas.

The royal-reality TV connections aren't limited to Made in Chelsea's stars, either. Princess Sofia of Sweden was a glamour model and a contestant on Paradise Hotel back in 2005. Ten years later, she officially became a royal herself when she married Prince Carl Philip.

The Swedish media wasn't exactly quick to embrace the brunette beauty when she and the prince were first engaged. "She was hung out to dry in a bullying type of way," Carl Philip said in an interview (as excerpted by The Local). But neither he, nor his family, would stand for it.

"My parents and my sisters were curious about her, open, and welcomed her with a big hug," he said. "She is a fantastic woman. I'm the happiest guy in the world."
