Carly Chaikin is just like you.

The Suburgatory veteran, who is currently getting her hack on as Darlene on USA's critically acclaimed Mr. Robot, confessed to E! News she's "so excited" for season two, just like you. And also just like you, she wondered, "After season one we were all kind of like, ‘OK, where do we go from here?'"

But fear not! "Because we did set the bar so high, and this season we definitely match it if not exceed it," she said.

Phew.

Don't expect a retread of last season with fsociety, the hacker group fronted by Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) who is actually a figment of Elliot's (Rami Malek) imagination, attempting another big hack and things getting in their way. Chaikin said the story picks up a few weeks after the season one finale events with a spotlight on Darlene.

"I would say you are going to be immersed in each and every one of these characters' story this year" Malek promised. "It's so interesting. I don't know how to say it. There's so much that goes on in every scene that it's hard to peel your eyes away and you don't want to. There's a lot of information coming your way, I will say that, but so much of it is done in an entertaining way that moves the show forward at a furious pace, one that takes everyone down to some really dark places."

Gulp.

And don't try to predict anything, Portia Doubleday cautioned. The cast had to assemble to read the last four scripts of the season in a warehouse. "It was crazy," she said.

Mr. Robot season two premieres Wednesday, July 13 at 10 p.m. on USA.

(E! and USA are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
