Earlier this month, Drew Barrymore revealed she suffered with postpartum depression following the birth of her second child, and now, the mother of two is giving fans further insight in to her struggle.

While promoting her forthcoming film Miss You Already, which is set for release on Nov. 6, the 40-year-old actress spoke about her new memoir Wildflower in an interview with E! News at the movie's NYC junket, where she discussed the chapter in her book titled "Post Pardon Me."

"The chapter that I wrote that includes Toni [Collette] is called Postpartum Me, but really it's just a wonderful little exploration of how you just try to find the balance of it all. And it is a beautiful time and an emotional time and an overwhelming time" Barrymore, who is a mom to daughters, Frankie, 1, and Olive, 3, with husband Will Kopelman said.

"But it's where you call on yourself to become that strong and amazing nurturing animal and conquer everything and get ahead of it," she continued, adding, "It's just an amazing transition, but it is a transition."

The actress first revealed her battle with postpartum depressed in the an October issue of People magazine

"I didn't have postpartum the first time so I didn't understand it because I was like, 'I feel great!'" she shared. "The second time, I was like, 'Oh, whoa, I see what people talk about now. I understand.' It's a different type of overwhelming with the second. I really got under the cloud."

She also said she's thankful for her struggle with PPD, which lasted about six months, because it served as a reminder to live in the present.

"It's really important," she says. "I was in the kids' class with Frankie and Olive this morning and I started fretting about some piece of work news that was just stressful...and I just thought, 'Save it until after class.' One thing at a time."

Barrymore isn't the only celeb who has admitted to suffering from postpartum depression. Hayden Panettiere and Bryce Dallas Howard have both been open about their struggles
