Less than a day after people crazy over the news that Serena van der Woodsen could have been played by Ashley Olsen, Gossip Girl fans have gained another sweet surprise: Blake Lively's audition tape for the major role!

The two-minute clip features the blond beauty wearing a bright yellow, low-cut top and acting out a portion from the pilot episode of the show. In the scene, Serena tries to make amends with bestie Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) after returning to the Upper East Side from boarding school.

She portrays the moment almost precisely as she did for the real episode, proving she was made for the role as the gorgeous, leggy socialite from day one.

Another clip of Ed Westwick's audition for the role of Chuck Bass has also been trending on the Internet.

The clip shows him wearing a striped polo shirt as he portrays a separate part from the pilot during which he attempts to seduce Serena. Producers had him act out the scene in both an English and American accent. Though both were pretty perfect (we love the idea of a British Chuck Bass), they eventually ended up making him American.

Meanwhile, the CW's casting producer David Rapaport told Buzzfeed on Tuesday that the whole show could have looked very, very different.

"I think the network initially pitched us Ashley Olsen and Rumer Willis for Blair and Serena," he shockingly revealed. "I love Rumer. She's grown into quite an amazing actress and person, but that, to me, was based on protecting the investment of a television show where creatively, these lesser-known girls really captured the essence of the show and carried it for six years."

In fact, Lively was the only person he wanted to play Serena, thanks to her role in the 2006 film Accepted. "I was terrified we wouldn't get her or they wouldn't like her because, honestly, the show lived and died on her and I had absolutely no other ideas."

After watching her audition tape, we totally get why he felt that way! She was truly the perfect fit.
