October is a big month for the Clintons!

Not only is the first Democratic primary debate coming up, but Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary, so the former president is going to have to figure out something special to mark the milestone with his wife. In an exclusive interview with E! News, Chelsea Clinton opened up about her parents' big day, which falls in the midst of several other big affairs.

"[My dad] has very good taste, so I don't know what he's getting my mom," she confessed. But even if she did know she's keeping her lips locked so she doesn't spoil any surprises.

"I wouldn't want to out him," she added, "but I don't know."

Bill confessed to Maria Menounos that he no longer tries to surprise his wife with vacations because he considers himself a "jinx" after she broke her elbow prior to traveling to the Greek island of Corfu; so when Maria mentioned that incident, Chelsea couldn't help but laugh.

"That's still a shadow," Chelsea said, giggling. "My dad definitely thinks that's a jinx."

The injury resulted in necessary surgery for the Democratic presidential contender, but it was deemed a success.

But there's more than just their anniversary to look forward to this month—there's also Hillary's 68th birthday on Oct. 26! So whatever Chelsea and Bill have planned will have to be quite the celebration. And to think, Bill and Hillary almost became the couple that never was.

That's right, they almost didn't get married.

"I once told her, 'I do want you to marry me, but you shouldn't do it,' and she said, 'That's not a very good way to make a sale. What do you mean?'" Bill also recalled to Maria. "I said, 'Well, I love you and you're endlessly interesting to me and we'll have a good life, but I think you're the most talented person of our generation for public service and what you should really do is go home to Illinois and run for office, or go to New York and practice law and run for office.'"

And the rest is history.
