Goodbye, Nate Archibald, hello, Billy Lefever! Chace Crawford makes his post-Gossip Girl TV debut on Sunday night in his new ABC soap, Blood & Oil, and E! News has an exclusive sneak peek of the episode.
The new series stars Crawford as Billy and Rebecca Rittenhouse (Red Band Society) as Cody, a newlywed couple who heads to North Dakota's Bakken oil fields—the site of the largest oil discovery in American history—in an attempt to make their fortune.
"We play a young married couple coming to the Bakken oil fields, a small town in North Dakota," he told E!'s Mark Malkin shortly after ABC ordered the show to series. "Don Johnson plays this oil tycoon, and he's phenomenal."
The show also stars Scott Michael Foster, India de Beaufort, Amber Valletta, Adan Canto, Delroy Lindo and Miranda Rae Mayo. But could it star one of his Gossip Girl pals? "I can't stand any of them," he joked about a possible on-screen GG reunion. "I can't stand any of those people. I never want to see them again."
Crawford's working-class Billy is a far cry from the ultra-rich Upper East Sider Nate, and, as you can see in E!'s exclusive clip, his new wife isn't too pleased with the amount of money he's had to borrow in order to make his oil dreams come true.
