Jon Hamm Finally Wins Emmy for Best Actor in a Drama for Mad Men, Thanks His Dog & Ex Jennifer Westfeldt in Humble Speech

It's the first acting win for the acclaimed AMC show

Cryptic finale aside, Don Draper went out a winner.

Amy Poehler's going to need a new co-host at the perennial losers (but-winners-at-heart) party, because Jon Hamm finally won the Emmy for Best Actor in a Drama Series tonight at the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards

And he sure made it worth our wait, at least, foregoing the stairs and half-crawling, half-rolling himself onto the stage.

"There has been a terrible mistake, clearly. Thank you for that," the Mad Men star said, looking somewhat stunned and a little bit relieved, in accepting the first win for himself and in any acting category for the critically acclaimed AMC show, which signed off after seven seasons this year.

"This is impossible. It's impossible to be named with all of those extraordinary gentlemen," he continued. "It is impossible to be standing up here. It's impossible to have done this show, with this incredible cast, these incredible people, these incredible writers, our incredible crew. The network and studio who put this on, Lionsgate and AMC. Am I saying that right? And it's incredible and impossible for me personally to be standing here, so I want to thank the people to whom I owe an incredible debt, people who in my life have gotten me here. Families who have for some reason chosen to take me in, to be nice to me..."

Hamm went on to thank many a pair, including his dog Cora and now ex-partner Jennifer Westfeldt.

"Thank you all very much. I would not be standing here without you," he started to sound slightly choked up. "Thank you to everyone who watched the show, thank you for this."
