Is it already that time again?!

Yep, the 2015 Emmys take place this Sunday, and we're already predicting who will take up space on the best (and worst) dressed lists. But in the meantime, we're throwing it back to several ladies who've blown us away with their red carpet selections... and then to a few who really underwhelmed.

Just last year, Sofía Vergara turned up the heat in a white-hot Roberto Cavalli number. And before her, it was Nina Dobrev and Rose Byrne whose gowns had us weak in the knees (in Donna Karan and Calvin Klein, respectively). Claire Dane set the style bar high in an eye-catching canary yellow Lanvin design, and Kerry Washington just plain blew us away with a sensational scarlet Zuhair Murad gown.

We know they can't all be winners, but there are still no adequate excuses for these red carpet disasters. Thankfully, Portia De Rossi's style has vastly improved since this 1999 shredded black dress mess. And when it comes to Sarah Paulson, we're not sure which is more terrifying: Her hit show, American Horror Story, or this nightmarish Armani Prive gown.

Now, Sarah Silverman's dress didn't have to be so bad (that cobalt color is gorgeous, after all). But with an extra, say, 15 yards of fabric tacked onto the hips, this number didn't stand a chance. As for Lena Dunham, there was never any hope that the frothy tiered pink Giambattista Valli gown—compete with a collared neckline and a ruffled ombré—would work... or Kynt Cothron's getup for that matter, which continues to render us speechless.

Whether it's the best dressed hits or worst dressed misses you're looking forward to, rest assured: There will definitely be new additions to both lists come Sunday.
